Brushing Teeth

I thought it was just my observation, but other adults that work with our fourth graders have also started commenting about how bad some fourth grader's breaths have become. It isn't just one or two students, but many throughout the day that has become a concern. In my career of eighteen years, I don't remember even noticing before. The fact that it is being brought up repeatedly has become a concern.

Fourth grade is also a time when students become aware of their peers and begin comparing themselves. Bad breath is something that can linger in the minds of classmates and limit friendships.

We are talking about the importance of brushing your teeth at least twice a day and increasing our water intake. We watched a video I titled, Brush your Teeth (if you are unable to use the link, copy and paste into your browser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDZXSMU2lAk). We spent less than five minutes of class time talking about this, but we know it was five minutes well spent.
