Punished

One fun book I like to read with students is the story, "Punished" by David Lubar.

Our main character, Logan Quester finds himself in the library one day after school with his active friend, Benedict. Benedict decides a game of tag would be a "good idea", and our characters game leads to a run-in with a professor. The professor, who appreciates words, "punishes" Logan for poor choices in the library. Logan can speak only in puns until he completes a quest to find oxymorons, anagrams, and more. This book is highly motivating, and students worked in partners to take turns reading and catch all the different examples of words.

We decided we didn't think we would like this type of punishment! It was sure fun to read about!
