This week, we had two fire drills. Rumor has it, Minnesota state law says schools need to hold nine fire drills a year ... After real-life experiences of the fire alarms sending us outside in January temperatures or Spring rains, we always appreciate the drills that happen during warmer weather! One drill this week, included a "fire" (painted on paper), having students practice using an alternate route. The fact of the matter, student safety is important to our staff, and we welcome the opportunities to be prepared.
On Thursday morning, Mr. Greninger and Ms. Leom's classes were in the middle of transitioning between Math and Reading. The alarm didn't phase our students at all. They knew exactly what to do! They set down their books, calmly walked out the door, and headed to our meeting place.
