There are SO many things to be said about Book Projects!!
Students are graded up to three points in four different areas:
- organization and being prepared
- project
- presentation
- evidence (they read the book)
They may have all four areas. Students may have practiced and successfully communicated all of the areas when they practiced. Speaking in front of a large group of their peers, can bring out the nervous energy, and sometimes one of the four areas isn't presented clearly. Speaking is a life skill. We prepare, practice, and present several times throughout the year to learn and improve.
Ms. Leom's class was able to finish presenting on the second day. Mr. Greninger's class will need the unusual third day. His class appears to be averaging longer presentations. We'll make it work!
Here are the projects presented on the second day:
What creative and inventive ideas!!!
The third and final day:
Now to beginning planning for our November Book Projects: Historical Fiction. Students have a list of series that would work in their OSCAR (homework folders).
