This morning, we started presenting our October Book Projects. Our genre was Mysteries. It was our first book projects, so it took us longer to set up and get started. We were unable to get through all 25 people in one class period. The students who did not present today will present tomorrow.
Ms. Leom picks sticks out of a container. One person is "up", and the second stick, that person is "on deck". The first student presents. Meanwhile, the class is working on an "Audience Sheet". They write down the speaker's name, title of the book, and the project. They also circle a "+" or "-" if they think it would be a book they would like to read, and if they think it is a project they would be interested in creating. Ms. Leom records details about the student's presentation. At the end, Ms. Leom takes a picture. The student "on deck" is now "up", and a new stick is selected to be "on deck". We develop a flow. Before the end of the day, students will receive their comment sheets, so they can read the feedback.
Students were well prepared and organized this year! We are excited to see more!
(Please check back. More pictures will be added as students present tomorrow.) :)
