Readers

We are a classroom of readers. Ms. Leom took a picture of our Independent Reading after lunch one afternoon.

Reading to succeed!

A Visit from the Doctor

A professor from Ms. Leom's Masters of Literacy Program came to spend a morning at our school. We were so excited and proud to share our school community and students and all the wonderful work we are doing in literacy in our school. Milaca Proud.

Mod-Podge

It was time to mod-podge our poetry notebook covers.

Blue Shirt Day

Wednesday April 3 was Child Abuse Prevention Month at Milaca Elementary. We wore our blue shirts to speak out for keeping all students safe.
These are some more "favorites" I add to the list in my memories. I wear a blue shirt for Child Abuse Prevention Month. I want all families to have the support they need to be healthy.

Phrases

Last week, was our seventh Readers Theater week. We worked on phrasing for fluency.

Let the Music Play

One of the special moments of being a fourth grade teacher, is being there, in the moment, when fourth graders try out all the different instruments for band and pick the one. Fast forward three years ... four ... six years ... and to see these same students perform at the top of their game, magical!

One of the best parts of being a teacher, being at a school for twenty-three years, watching each student find their way, and letting the music play.
