Sledding

Long before Ms. Leom became a fourth grade teacher, fourth graders walked to Rec Park to go sledding on Valentines Day - weather and snow conditions permitting. Ms. Leom was working her way through the hill, attempting to grab a picture of every student. It was so cold, her battery froze, and her ability to take pictures died. Here are images of part of our fun.

Kansas

On February 14th, Ms. Leom's homeroom had a Google Hangout experience with a class from Kansas. They were asking us twenty questions to guess where we were from. It was sixty degrees there. So much fun to learn from them!

Readers Theater

We are working on Inflection and Intonation with a focus on fluency this week. Students read Trickster Tales Readers Theater.

Hanging with our Buddies

Ms. Anderson's first graders had a Google Hangout on Thursday morning to wish Ms. Leom's homeroom a Happy Valentine's Day. They also introduced us to their new student teacher! It was so fun to connect with our friends and return to our regularly scheduled learning day!

Delivery

This week, students were invited to pass out Valentines when they arrived. It is very serious business.

Writers

Some of the students in Ms. Leom's Flex Reading are writing their own newspapers. We took pictures for our first issues. So exciting to see our own words in print! So exciting to be excited to write!

Licorice Fun

With all the snow days, we had Spelling Week 16 over two weeks. It allowed for us to have a day of fun spelling. Students took pictures of their words. The made a table using Google Documents. They inserted their pictures into the table. It was a fun and tasty day of learning.
