This week, we are focusing on fluency in class. Students are learning about using a "small pause" when we read ellipses, periods, commas, questions marks, colons, semi-colons, exclamation points, hyphens ...
We have used echo reading (Ms. Leom reads a sentence and the class reads a sentence), choral reading (we all read together as one voice), and partner reading (take turns reading with a peer).
The pictures are all jumbled up ... some showing Ms. Leom's class, some Mr. Greninger's class, some from our practice on Tuesday in Flex, some from our practice on Wednesday in Core ...
We were readers this week. We are readers every week. It is exciting to HEAR the progress as students are reading!
Students were encouraged to read to younger siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews, neighbors, pets, stuffed animals, and even their adults over the weekend to show off their progress.
So exciting!!
