BINGO!

Today was our BINGO Reward Day in Dahlager Theater.

Our prizes ... coupons

Yes, we had some multiple winners. We played traditional BINGO, Four Corners, Postage Stamp, and more. We even had an option to switch out boards in the middle. Ms. Leom only took pictures of her winners.

Students may only redeem the coupons with their classroom teacher, in the beginning of the day, for one day. The coupon only can be used in the homeroom classroom. Students will lose their coupon if they are distracted or need to be redirected related to their reward. Students who won are encouraged to use their coupons this week.

Mrs. Hakes-Anderson even led us in a round of the song, BINGO. What a fun afternoon to recognize being responsible!

Grinch Week

Today begins Grinch Week. It is a week filled with learning, all with a Grinch twist.

ADHD

My mom sent me this video this week to help me see how she was able to understand a family member. As a teacher, I have the privledge to meet a lot of people everyday. People with potential, people with incredible gifts, and people who either struggle with ADHD or who are a friend or love someone with ADHD. I am not posting this with "one person" or family in mind. I am posting this video, for all my students of the past twenty-plus years and my friends and family who are reaching their potential everyday, with ADHD. I thought some of what Jessica shared would be helpful. It is just over fifteen minutes.

ADHD isn't ... and what it is ...

"You are not weird. You are not stupid. You do not need to try harder. You are not a failed version of normal. You are different. You are beautiful. And you are not alone." - Jessican McCabe (about 16 minutes)

Serenade

This morning, some of Ms. Leom's alumni students found her in the Media Center. They were playing their instruments, and they wanted to make sure she didn't miss out! So while students checked out books, we enjoyed some songs.

Just another example of what makes every day at Milaca Elementary a GREAT place to learn!!

Puzzling Capitals

Our Southeast States and Capitals test is scheduled for Friday December 15th. We took some class time to prepare today, by working on puzzles.
