Memorization

On April 25th, our fourth graders will be standing on their own, on Milaca High School's Dahlager Theater's stage to recite their prepared poem. It takes some practice and preparation to be ready for such an important speaking opportunity in front of you peers, their parents, and staff! We have been working on our poems in class.

One strategy to practice, we had a partner from class. Our directions were to sit "knee to knee". First, we took turns reading our poems to our partner. Next, we trade our poetry notebooks. We practiced reciting our poems. Our partners read us any lines we needed help reciting. We took turns reciting our poems in class.

Students should continue to practice reading their poems at home. It is a great opportunity to practice in the mirror or to the family.

Poetry Cafe is scheduled for Friday April 25th. Ms. Leom, Ms. Prose, and Mrs. Arens (partial) will present at 8:45 AM. Mr. Greninger, Mr. Lundeen, and Mrs. Arens (partial) will present at 10:00 AM. Parents, families, and friends will need a picture ID and should check in through the District Office doors before joining  us. We hope to see you there!
