O-R-E-O

We completed some serious writing this week. There were several learning goals:

* use the writing process of prewriting, rough draft, proofreading, revising, editing, and a final draft to write
* write expository nonfiction
* write using transition words
* write for an audience (peers)
* enjoy writing
* read expository nonfiction

Here is what the final draft of our process looks like:

 Finally, students receive a cookie and copy of another student's final draft. Students need to eat the Oreo Cookie using another student's directions.

One of the best parts of this lesson is the student participation. Fourth graders are interested in eating their second Oreo Cookie, so they are excited to finish their writing for the final step. Writing starts by writing one letter at a time .... this week is brought to you by letters, O-R-E-O!
