I took so many pictures on my phone, my battery died before the day ended. I've run an entire marathon (26.2 miles), running a GPS ap, music, taking pictures along the way, and more, without my phone battery dying, so I wasn't prepared for the sudden red warning.
Here are some images from our fun day!
First, on our way to take the OPLAs, Ms. Leom's students visited Mr. Leom's Math class in the "upstairs" and let him know we were ready to learn!
For Writing, Ms. Leom's class wrote stories using candy hearts ...
Then we went to Rec Park to make the most of our recent snowfall ...
We talked about taking the time to READ each Valentine and search for the puns and other examples of figurative language that make our Valentines so fun. Then students collected their boxes and bags of treasure. Our classroom rang out with shouts of names and "Thank you!". It is a heart-warming and festive atmosphere, before we sent the "buzzing" with "only two pieces" of candy students to Music and Phy-Ed. Our high school helper was able to join us for our festivities. It was just like he remembered it!
Happy Valentines Day! Thank you for sharing such LOVE-ly students! It makes my HEART swell to appreciate their individual gifts they share! Enjoy your four day week!
