For Mother's Day, Ms. Leom started planning months ahead of time. When she moved to Milaca twenty-three years, her grandma, now passed, gave her a little Aloe Vera plant, and it has grown. Ms. Leom also pulled off several "spider babies" last month to grow some roots.

Then, she picked up a bag of soil, cleaned out and prepared some milk cartons, and we were ready for a day of planting.
Happy Mother's Day to all of our mothers and women who impact our lives in the little and big ways that matter! A special moment for all those mothers who are no longer with us, and those who have sadness associated with Mother's Day. All these stories and experiences touch us and matter.
