Chaperones

This is how Ms. Leom selects her chaperones for the field trip. 

1.) Send home the field trip letter, permission slip, and chaperone interest

2.) Check that the chaperones have their background check filed in the District Office

3.) A week later, invite the students of interested chaperones up to my desk to write their names on a small sticky note

We select two parents of students who are girls. We select two parents of students who are boys. 

4.) The boys put their slips into the can. Our high school helper selected two names.

5.) The girls put their slips into the can. Our high school helper selected two names.

6.) Ms. Leom asked ALL the students who had parents volunteer to bring up their planners. She wrote notes in every planner to communicated "You were picked to chaperone." or "You were not selected to chaperone." All the interested parents have two weeks to make the necessary arrangements.

This is a BIG deal! Ms. Leom had THIRTEEN parents volunteer to chaperone! She could only select four chaperones. Parent involvement is one of the BEST reasons to be a part of the Milaca Schools!!
