Placemat Projects

In December, students were invited to read a book. They need to read for their December Reading Calendar, and Ms. Leom gave every student a new book. Students were encouraged to bring the book they read to school to work on a book project IN school. We are making Book Project Placemats.

The directions were uploaded to Edmodo and on the board. Each day we add a new detail. On Tuesday, we introduced the project, and students started working on the placemat itself and the boarder. On Wednesday, students received the plate to illustrate a cover picture with the title and the author. On Thursday, students received their utensils. Each item of silverware has a different detail to be recorded.

Students appear to be enjoying their projects and working hard.

We will share our book projects with lunch in the classroom. We will prepare by talking about basic manners, speaking in a small group, and more. Stay tuned for pictures of our lunch showcase. We are busy working to prepare!
