This week, our class is learning about Similes and Metaphors. This is a Vocabulary Acquisition and Use standard for fourth grade.
Miss. Carrie read us the book, Quick as a Cricket.
Then we took some notes about what it means and record some examples.
Next we focused on metaphors
We listened to a collection of songs having similes and metaphors. Ms. Leom stopped the songs between each, had students vote if they thought it was a simile or metaphor, and tell why. By the end of the examples, everyone was able to correctly identify similes and metaphors correctly.
