Growing Up

On Friday April 12, Erin from Mille Lacs County Public Health came to speak to the girls about growing up.

Mr. Greninger and Mr. Lundeen spoke to the boys. The boys learned they need to shower regularly, brush their teeth, and wear deodorant. They should also change their clothes regularly. Then the boys watched a (not related to growing up) movie. Boys were given deodorant to bring home.

The girls learned a few more details. Erin talked about talking to an adult you trust with any questions you have. She talked about the steps to puberty: developing acne, hair, and learning to stay clean by showering daily, wearing deodorant with antiperspirants. Then we watched a movie available on-line. Next, Erin handed out a packet of information. She answered questions and encouraged students to talk with their adults at home. The girls kit, ordered last fall, is still on back order.
