Band Begins

This week, fourth graders are beginning the next step in their opportunity for band. Today, we handed out the half sheet we will use on Wednesday when Eckroth Music comes in with their experience (often retired) band instructors to give us a quick instruction on how to form our mouths to make the sounds, then lets us try the instruments. To prepare, today, we watched a short dvd (15 minutes) about band. We took a quick quiz on rhythm, pitch,and melody in Mr. Greninger's classroom.

According to Mr. Garber, at last week's concert, Milaca has one of the biggest high school marching bands in the entire state of Minnesota! We have a high percentage of our students who participate. Many of our band students participate in sports and other school activities as well. Our bands often have opportunities to travel throughout the states and even in the United States. This is a great opportunity and time to try band! This might be "just the fit" for you!
