Beach Day

It is Beach Day in Ms. Leom and Mr. Greninger's fourth grade classes. We had a variety of activities to celebrate this fun day!

Beach Day was originally going to be on May 1. Our field trip was scheduled for that day. So we rescheduled for May 8th. Poetry Cafe, Blue Ribbon Ice Cream Social, and a third event was scheduled that day. Fridays were not an option. So we scheduled Beach Day for Cinco de Mayo.

First, we started our Reading Marathon. It was an all day event (see an earlier post). We read ten minutes, worked on our (curriculum review) poster, then repeated.
We prepared our room for eating lunch at "Beach Leom" ...

With the beautiful weather (inspired by a parent email ...), we enjoyed lunch outside in the Elementary Courtyard.

Then, inspired by students, we went back into the courtyard, and Ms. Leom read to her class. What a beautiful day to be outside!!

We read another ten minutes of our books outside.

What a gorgeous day to spend together reading!!
We finished the last half hour of the work day for completing our posters, and working on any missing work.

Ms. Leom had one more surprise for us ... Our high school helper came and served up some chips and salsa.

Spending time with friends, a good book, learning, time with family, a little spice and treat ... Life is a Beach!
