Alarmed

Don't be alarmed!

The Second Quarter of grading has started. In Reading and Social Studies the grades may appear alarming ... calm yourself. The reality, the first two grades were doozies! First, in Reading, we had the 29 point Reading Calendar, followed by the 20 point Unit 2 Reading Test. If students are missing one, or had a low score, it will greatly lower the grade. In Social Studies, students took the 11 point Northeast States and Capitals Test and have until Friday to finish their 34 point Northeast Notes. Again, if students did not study or prepare for the State and Capitals test, it will impact their grade significantly. There are no retakes or redo for testing. Students should turn in any missing work, and give us a week or so to add some other learning, and the data should improve. If the grades aren't looking better, please connect with your fourth grader. Our routines and expectations are established. Students should know the details. For Ms. Leom, students may rework any learning that isn't a test or quiz.

For both teachers, accessing ParentVUE, or asking your child to sign you into their StudentVUE account to peek at grades is one option. For Ms. Leom's classes, students can also sign into Google Classroom to view the names, assignments, and often extra details.

No need to be alarmed. We are busy learning.
