Playground

Our "big" playground is being updated. After years of fundraising, we were finally able to move forward with our plan. The entire update needs to be completed by June 30th to keep within this fiscal year, so the work had to start early. On Monday and Tuesday, they took dump truck loads of pea gravel out. Today, they removed the former main structure.

It is fascinating to watch!

A staff member commented that twenty-five years ago, as a third grader, she watched the "new" playground be installed, and as a fourth grader, she was one of the first to play on it. Now, twenty-five years later, she is working in a third grade classroom, and this group of students will be the first fourth graders to play on the new equipment.

In a meeting this morning, there was word that this year's summer school students will be part of the grand opening of the playground!! What an exciting time to be a child!
