Flexible Learning

This week there is a LOT of learning goals we want to accomplish:
* Unit 9: Distinguish and Evaluate Facts and Opinions
* Spelling Week 25: Prefixes: ex-, in-, non-
* Poetry Unit: Set up our Notebook and select our poem to memorize
* MCA Reading Test Prep
* Small Group Instruction
* Missing Work
* Social Studies - Southwest Region
* Writing - Informational Texts - revising and final drafts

There are some limits ...
* time
* Poetry Book Cover Mod-Podging ... we only have two paint brushes
* MCA Test Prep can only be accomplished on the computer, and we only have one (the laptop carts are checked out for classrooms already testing)
* direct whole class instruction can't happen when students are needing flexible learning
* there are enough poetry books for everyone, but the favorites (Shel Silverstein) are a limited number
* more

So it means we have to be purposeful in our learning ... we start with what we need to do, then we set up very CLEAR expectations, and we separate to do what needs to be done ...

Then sometimes, the unexpected happens, and we have a classroom join us ... or it is time for Specials ... we are into flexible learning ... doing what we need to do to be successful. I LOVE how BOTH CLASSES work so hard to make it all happen!!
