Lines

In Math, Ms. Leom was trying to teach us the difference between a line and a line segment. Our class was struggling. So she took a package of yarn into the hallway, and she sent a student down the hall. Lines (with arrows on each end) never end. They just keep going on into infinity. You can't measure a line, because it never ends. You can measure a line segment with end points (a starting and stopping point).

Some of our best learning is unplanned and dependent on what the students indicate they need clarified on the spot. It can be messy ... loud ... and take up more space than our classroom itself. Luckily we can draw the lines and get back to the class and our regularly scheduled learning.
