Kindness

Our school is participating in October's National Bully Awareness Month. There are many activities happening in school and around our community to focus on the antonym of bullying, kindness. You may have noticed the chalk art and words around the community.

Tuesday October 20th was "Do a Random Act of Kindness Day". In our classroom, we made a "plan" on Monday night. It was our goal to follow through on Tuesday. After a discussion, which included being "anonymous" in our acts of kindness, Ms. Leom invited her homeroom class to record their ideas. Some students were having a tough idea for what to do, so with a wall of ideas as a reference, everyone had an idea or two to consider.

Meanwhile, every week, we meet as a class to discuss our school's anti-bullying rules:

Ms. Leom is making posters from our discussions.

Last week, we talked about "trying to include students who are left out". This week, we will be talking about telling an adult at home and an adult at school.

Kindness matters.
