Students work in pairs (or a group of three to make sure everyone has spot). One student reads the words and the partner records the word. Then the partners switch. When students finish, they record the correct spelling of all of the words. We want students to be successful on the test, and it helps if we practice.
Meanwhile, Ms. Leom monitors and supports our practice. One group tried to use "stars" and the word, "rong" (wrong) as they checked their work. She reminded them that we rewrite the correct spelling of all of our words. She might move a group from their first setting on the floor, to a table, or she may help students who are finishing up the previous activity.
