Sometimes, you just need to make your own sunshine, then share it with others. When students arrived to school today, that is exactly what we set out to do.
We got right to work.
We delivered to staff all over the school. In return we received a phone call, a thank you card, and several in-person comments about how meaningful and thoughtful our May Day "baskets" meant to people. Yet, when I look at the smiles before sending students to deliver their "sunshine", I am reminded, often, it is better to give than to receive.
Our classes gave with pure joy and heart. It was a special day of making and sharing sunshine on May Day!
