ORF Benchmark

On Wednesday afternoon, students sat outside the Media Center and worked on their Poetry, as students met with Title One and ADSIS staff to participate in ORF Benchmark testing. ORF stands for Oral Reading Fluency, or how many words a student can read in a minute, with the fewest errors. We track this information. Students who can read fluently free up their mind to comprehend. The harder you work to decode the words, the less your brain can understand the underlining details in a plot.

The whole process took less than twenty minutes, and we returned to our room to work on our poetry.
