We were all ready to start our reading lesson. Ms. Leom LOVES this lesson. It is one of her favorites of the entire year, or at least in the top five. But as she looked out over her classroom of students, she could tell, they weren't ready yet ...
So we stopped what we were doing, lined up, and headed outside for a mask break.
We crossed the
road and headed to the football field and track.
Then students were invited to
run to he stairs, climb them, and run down the ramp.
They raced. Students who made it back were invited to go again. Students who thought once was enough were able to hang out with Ms. Leom. A student with a sore foot was invited to sit and wait until the class was finished.
Then we walked back to the school, put our masks on as we entered the building, and got back to the regularly scheduled learning. Sometimes you have to
read the room and make decisions
just because. Thankful for the nicer weather that allows for this to happen!
