Main Idea

 This week our reading skill was Main Idea and Details.

We started on Monday with a picture.

We wrote down why we identify Main Idea and Details, then how we can figure out what we need to know.

Then we practiced on texts. We read the text for the enjoyment. 

We reread for the vocabulary. Then we looked at the "tools" we use to find the main idea and details. We noticed there were two boxes, wanting to know two main ideas and details for this text. We noticed this text had two paragraphs. Since we needed to know the main idea and details for each paragraph, using the title and pictures weren't helpful for our work. We worked on it together as a class.
