Today, we learned about Setting. There are two parts to Setting: the time and place. When students read, every time, they should ask themselves the question, "What is the setting of this text?" Ms. Leom made an anchor chart for our classroom, and the students recorded the information in their Flex Journals, as a learning tool.

When students recently participated in the Unit 1 Assessment, asking related questions of the text was one area that many students need to develop. This is one of the most basic questions students can ask themselves to support their comprehension of the texts they read.
