On Thursday morning Ms. Leom started the task of helping students access their emails ...
This can be an overwhelming process on the best of days ... twenty-three students ... email addresses that have the following pattern: 2026lastnamefirstname@students.milaca.k12.mn.us
The number of errors that can take place ... Then you use a basic password to begin, and that has to be changed and verified ... in between there is a user agreement ... Luckily there were students who had a smoother experience, and they were willing to out where they could.
This was just the beginning. Next week took on accessing Google Classroom. It is an on-line platform where our learning can be posted. If you are home, sick from school, you will (eventually) be able to access some of your work and get a head start.
When those two events were completed, Ms. Leom took on the same adventure with Mr. Greninger's students. There were two or three glitches ... students that need some problem solving. After a full day of technology, Ms. Leom needed a slight "time out" to think about what she needs to try ... or find someone who might have some strategies for her. 95% of our students are able to access their email and Google Classroom.
It was a successful day of learning (for everyone)!
