PIE Day

We celebrated PIE Day in fourth grade on Friday October 6th. PIE Day is more than just eating pie, but to most fourth graders when you ask, their first visual, is accompanied by a flood to their taste buds, as they remember eating pie. PIE Day is all about Author's Purpose, and the reasons that author's write.

We learned about Author's Purpose and took notes. We ate three flavors of pie: strawberry-rhubarb, pumpkin, apple. We graphed our favorite kind of pie. We read about the history of pie. We discussed the purpose of that article. Later, Ms. Leom's class was able to watch a video about "Enemy Pie" with our first grade reading buddies. It was a good day to learn about PIE.
