Ms. Peterson is very involved in Art in our community! She is a founding member of the Milaca Arts Center (the MAC) in downtown Milaca. She has been involved in the Milacaroni Art Festival, the art classes available, the many art shows, the live music in the park in the summer, and more!! She has worked with a team to access grants and bring more opportunities to Milaca and support local talent. Most importantly, Ms. Peterson is an artist herself. To have someone give back to the community and share her experiences with our students is a credit to our amazing school!!
If you have an opportunity at conferences or Specialists Parent Night, or even one of the many MAC sponsored events, please make a point to thank her for making Milaca her home!
In a time when many schools are cutting back on Arts education for more preparation for testing, our students have quality Art education experiences!! This matters. Many of our students are creative, visual, and spatial learners. Learning in the Arts inspires and helps students remember, organize, and make connections. Art supports student learning and academic success. I LOVE our school!!
