At 1:00, Passport Training started. Passport Training is a tradition in the Elementary School. Staff members visit our classroom and spell out the expectations for the different areas of the school. The expectations are very clear and concise.
Assistant Principal, Mr. Meyer visited. He talked about the lunchroom expectations and the dress code. Officer Shaw was not able to visit today, so Mr. Meyer spoke about weapons, play weapons, and clothing that may picture or refer to illegal substances like cigarettes or alcohol may not be worn to school. He explained the consequences (meeting with him initially, suspension, he even mentioned expulsion).
Mr. Meyer also taught us the school-wide sign to get student attention. In the lunch room, on the playground, or in an assembly, when an adult raises his or her hand, we immediately stop talking and raise our hands to signal it is time to listen.
Primary Social Worker, Ms. Erickson visited us next. She talked about hallway expectations.
Mrs. Jensen spoke to us about the expectations at the bathroom.
Travis Westling represented the bus companies and talked about bus safety.
Finally, Principal Mr. Voshell visited. He talked to us about the new playground and the expectations for the playground.
Mr. Voshell reviewed the earlier speakers information.
After our guests are finished speaking, we take a Passport Training Test. Ms. Leom reads each question out loud. We go over the test and all the answers together. The tests are kept on file in the office for the entire school year. Mr. Meyer will pull the tests if students need to review expectations.
