We started with our initial expectations.
Book Club was better than Ms. Leom imagined. She even teared up listening to students include each other, ask questions, share their own experiences in a way that modeled how a peer could participate. There was the group that read a really funny part, and together shared what made it so funny.
As students read and talked, Ms. Leom spent time with each group listening to groups discuss, question, read, and interact.
The maturity, conversation, participation, and engagement about shared books was a fun way to leran.
