In Social Studies, we are reading and learning about landforms, landmarks, regions, and bodies of water. We added erosion to our conversation today. Ms. Leom picked popsicle sticks with our names to determine our partners. Then she went from partner to partner, listening to groups read, asking questions, and participating in the learning. Our high school helper was also in the room, listening to students read and being present. We LOVE the time, talents, and opportunities available in sharing a K-12 building!!
After our reading today, we took time to respond to what we read about. We wrote the date, and at least three ideas we learned. Students were able to use the texts to help them spell words and key on their thinking.
We are developing key vocabulary and geography processes for deeper learning later in the school year.
