On Wednesday, Ms. Leom's took the Unit 2 Assessment. The four inch stack of papers takes four hours of time to go over for each class. It is taking awhile to process ...
Before we took the test, Ms. Leom reviewed the skills we've been working on. Then she reviewed the steps to carefully take the test.
First, we read the whole text. Then we read the question. We go back to the text and reread the related sections that reflect the question. We highlight or underline the text to reflect our answer, and we take notes in margins. If your child's text is missing the sloppy underlining, highlighting, or notes in the margin, this would be a concern. Students select the best answer. Last, students recheck their work to make sure it makes sense before moving on to the next question. We have been modeling and working on this extensive routine in class.
