On Wednesday morning, Milaca fourth graders are taking the MAP Reading Test. We monitor student learning three times a year: in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. We use the data to determine if students are making growth. If they demonstrate they are making progress, we may only tweak a detail or two to support their continued success. If student data indicates minimal growth, then we begin looking at our programming and what strategies we can implement to meet individual student learning needs. We use this information to make recommendations for interventions, support services within the school day, After School Tutoring and Summer School, .
You can see, despite Ms. Leom's tables in her classroom, there are plenty of alternative work areas around the room for us to move and separate students for space and to maintain the testing protocols.
It was the perfect rainy morning to take a test.
