After our initial lesson on reading closely, and focusing on facts, Ms. Leom wanted us to know, you can reread a text for additional lenses. Our second lens was descriptions.
First, we met in groups to talk about what is a description. Talking in class is necessary to learning. Then we shared and developed a class meeting.
Then on the board, using a different section of the United States text, Ms. Leom modeled with student participation and help, examples of descriptions in the text.
One of the BEST learning moments, someone shared about prescriptions. Some of our best learning is when someone gives us information about something slightly off track. It can help us compare and contrast and better clarify our learning. There is a place and purpose for ALL of our learners and their participation!
