Each week, in both classes, there will be a Student of the Week (SOTW). Randomly (a tongue depressor stick, selected from a bag) every students will be chosen to share a poster, maybe pictures, and personal treasure with the class. In turn, each student creates a book page. The pages are collected and gathered into a class book to be given to the student. Today, we learned the process of making our book pages.
The information is provided from students on Google Classroom. Students are able to select sentence frames to write a paragraph and share what makes that student special. Then they illustrate a picture to go along with their paragraphs.
Using Google Classroom is a fantastic resource for students! It provides access within their work space, so they are not craning their necks or straining their eyes to see the information on the board. To limit the strain, we used to provide paper copies, which added up for a one time use. Students can also "blow up" or expand the sentence frames and move the page, so the line they are using as at the top of the screen, helping them track and individualizing the resources for their own needs and success.
Today was the first of many pages to be shared throughout the school year.
